पश्चिम बंगाल के मुर्शिदाबाद में शुक्रवार सुबह एक दर्दनाक रेल हादसा हुआ, जब एक लोकल ट्रेन ने रेलवे लेवल क्रॉसिंग पार कर रही स्कूल वैन को टक्कर मार दी। इस हादसे में कम से कम तीन लोगों की मौत हुई, जिनमें दो स्कूली बच्चे शामिल हैं, जबकि कई अन्य छात्र गंभीर रूप से घायल हो गए। घायलों का अस्पताल में इलाज चल रहा है। रेलवे और पुलिस ने मामले की जांच शुरू कर दी है। प्रारंभिक जानकारी के अनुसार रेलवे फाटक के संचालन को लेकर भी सवाल उठ रहे हैं, हालांकि वास्तविक कारण जांच के बाद ही स्पष्ट होगा।
